To the best of my knowledge, all the male pictures displayed on the lyrics pages are mine (Mr. Nand L Verma). Although I was told they are poems and that English poems can’t be sung, I feel that might not be true in my case—even if I still can’t read or write music.

Actually, the lyric above should be ready for final recording with music and to join the other eight songs in four languages. As I mentioned earlier, even though I still cannot read or write music or play any musical instrument, I managed to sing this song without anyone’s help, while sitting in my imperfect room in the village where I grew up. After hearing it without any music, I felt convinced—“Not bad”—and I realized I can do it.

Otherwise, if I had remained in the USA, this might never have happened. Because to stay afloat financially, I would have needed a full-time job, possibly until death, just to pay the bills—even if I started withdrawing social security after the age of 62. For me, financially, the USA turned out to be that difficult. And that would have meant no time to pursue all the projects I now have on my website, including these eight songs in four languages that are almost ready for final recording. Even while living in a village in India, I received a job offer from a nearby, very good hotel that would have paid me approximately $1,500 USD per month. However, I felt that my overall health required me to stay away from the job.

Today feels the same as it did not only yesterday, but almost as if the whole day is the same as it was 60 years ago—except that I’ve lost most of the hair on my head, and the rest has turned gray. Otherwise, I am the same man from head to toe. So, if someone is interested or wants to be sure, feel free to check me out. Only naturally born females, please—no “oldies” for sure. And hello, don’t laugh, because I am serious. In this era of the world wide web, you never know—sometimes old age might turn out to be better than youth. Anyway…

After reaching the retirement age of 62 in the USA, even though social security benefits were—and still are—almost equal to nothing, I decided to retire rather than continue doing work I hated just to make a living. Beyond that, I had grown sick and tired of life in both big and small cities since around 1975, including during my years in the USA. So I chose to live in a village for as long as I wish.

Looking around, who is laughing? Yeah, I am laughing because after looking at your selfies with digital wig honestly, I still don’t believe you (Mr. Nand L. Verma) look old. Hello, young lady—if you are unsure about something, you should make sure. In reality, I feel as though I am starting my life all over again, back from my teenage years. For the past 6 years (today it is December 2, 2025) I have been working nearly 14 hours a day, seven days a week. And before that, for about a year and a half while in USA, I worked roughly 4,200 hours at a job that, after all deductions, paid me only minimum wage.

And then came COVID. Whatever savings people had, many had to spend (including me) just to survive. The U.S. government often delayed payments, asking for endless paperwork or telling people to apply online. When it came to paying money, suddenly tax records seemed to vanish—even though everything was computerized. Yet at the same time, the government continued funding wars and financially supporting other countries. Sometimes I wondered if they thought people would simply die during COVID, leaving no liabilities and saving money by paying out less in social security. I hope that’s not true. But look—I am still alive.

I share all this to help people worldwide understand for most citizens, it means very little that the USA is the most powerful country militarily, technologically advanced, and home to the most valuable currency in the world. Out of 333 million people, perhaps 50 to 100 million falls into categories like below the poverty line, poor, working poor, modern slavery, or struggling middle class. Thousands are homeless, living right in front of luxury homes, while crime continues to rise. So, seems like without the right people in government, even a country like the USA can fall into chaos and dysfunction.

In old age, the reason I mentioned starting life all over again from my teenage years is because, back then, most people had to wake up at 6 or 7 in the morning, get ready, go to school, study, then come home to do homework. Many students also had household chores, including cooking for the whole family. In many ways, even after retirement, my life feels quite similar.

What? I said otherwise, most retired people enjoy old age by traveling, eating, sleeping, and having fun—things they couldn’t do while working, 5 or 6 days a week, for 30, 40, 50,60, 70 or even 80 hours for 30 to 50 years. But for me since Internet and world wide web was available even in the village, retirement has been more like returning to the discipline and workload of youth, rather than stepping into leisure. I mean, it is not about competition—it’s more like passion. What I’m saying is that if someone is able to earn a decent amount, or even a lot of money, through their passion, then old age can feel like young age all over again. And yes, that can be true.

Besides this, most retired people after the age of 60, 63, or 65 must rely on their old-age income, whether it comes from a pension or social security. What I mean is that even in a country like the USA, if retirees receive less than $2,000 to $2,500 per month, some may still be forced to live on the street, in their car, or continue working until their last breath. That is a sad, humiliating reality for a nation as wealthy and powerful as the USA, and for the people who call themselves real Americans.

Whatever is explained in the song is really a kind of hope—a reminder to try to live life as fully as possible, no matter the situations or circumstances. But for what? I believe it is in the hope that not only will circumstances improve, but that the world itself may become a better place to live.

What if someone has the choice of having nothing much to do, yet plenty of time to wander, relax, and enjoy all kinds of fun? That, too, is part of the hope.

In the next lyric, let’s explore why—and in what sense—someone might want to go back in time. Of course, I am not sure if time travel is possible, or if physically reversing age back to teenage years could ever happen. If it were possible, I have no idea how many humans on Earth would be capable of doing so.

That used to happen in an era when electricity wasn’t available to everyone, when there was no television, and only a few people owned radios. Yet, as most people know, plastic surgery can reverse the appearance of age in certain parts of the human body—but I am not aware of any pill that can do the same. And when it comes to plastic surgery, choosing the right and affordable surgeon nearby is extremely important. What? I said otherwise, everyone knows the truth of what happens if plastic surgery goes wrong.

If I am not mistaken, 99% of humans, until their last breath, not only want to look between the ages of 20 and 30 but also want to live and act as they did between 19 and 25 or 30. After all the advancements in medicine and technology, the most profitable and immortal business—the true practice of reversing age—still does not exist. But it shouldn’t be impossible.

What I have written in above lyric is not about real death. It is about the feeling many people experience—sometimes daily, sometimes weekly, monthly, yearly, or even once in a lifetime—when they feel “dead” inside while still alive. This is especially troubling in a country so vast in land, rich in resources, diverse in climate, technologically advanced, and home to the world’s most valuable currency, the U.S. dollar. I have seen families in the USA working tirelessly just to afford the basics of life, including owning a mortgage-free house or apartment. Yet, in a nation like the USA, this should not be so difficult.

But how, why, and for what reason do the lives, feelings, emotions, and mentality of some humans reach the point where people anywhere in the world may feel as if they are living like the dead, commit suicide, or become criminals of all kinds? Well, again, it comes down to the same causes: poverty, injustice, inequality, betrayal in relationships, disease, and all kinds of failures.

What? I am asking is this: in the face of all these failures, why don’t some politicians and government employees feel like the dead or commit suicide? Well, I am not sure about that, but as long as villages, towns, cities, states, countries, and the people living in them exist—and chaos is everywhere—governments and government employees will also exist, and they will continue to get paid. Still, some of them may not be happy or healthy by all means. Even after winning an election or serving as a government employee, retirement still comes with a pension that is not bad either—even if the same system and people created the chaos that exists today.

But at the same time, most humans want their own country based on worthless things. Therefore, being in government is not easy when dealing with global dirty politics, brutalities, and cruelties.

Actually, in reality and truth, unless someone is immortal, there must be something in life that keeps humans going. But the same urge—when twisted into greed and unhealthy desires—should not force humans to become inhuman or criminals of all kinds. Whether it is about having the basics in life or more than enough of everything, the principle remains the same.

If you think seriously, after birth all children must go to school to receive at least a basic education. After puberty, another phase of life begins, filled with new desires and fascinations related to sex. The reason for writing all of this here is to share the idea that chaos, desires, and hope are what keep humans going until their last breath.
